La luce e i silenzi. Orazio Gentileschi e la pittura caravaggesca nelle Marche del Seicento

A meno di un mese dall’apertura, la mostra in corso alla Pinacoteca Civica Bruno Molajoli di Fabriano La luce e i silenzi. Orazio Gentileschi e la pittura caravaggesca nelle Marche del Seicento, ha superato i 2000 visitatori. 

Un successo dunque per l’esposizione curata da Anna Maria Ambrosini Massari e Alessandro Delpriori e presentata da Regione Marche, Ministero per i Beni e le Attività culturali, Comune di Fabriano e Anci Marche.

Aperta al pubblico fino all’8 dicembre 2019 – ogni giorno i visitatori potranno partecipare a visite guidate alle 10.15, 11.30, 15, 16.30 e 18 (prenotando a pinacoteca.molajoli@comune.fabriano.an.it – 0732 250658) 
– la mostra raccoglie i capolavori realizzati da Orazio Gentileschi tra Ancona e Fabriano dal 1607 al 1619 circa: la sublime Circoncisione, La Vergine del Rosario oggi nella Pinacoteca Civica, la Visione di Santa Francesca Romana proveniente da Urbino, l’intensa Maddalena per l’Università dei Cartai, nucleo di una stanza tematica in cui Gentileschi viene messo a confronto con Giovanni Francesco Guerrieri e altri.

Parte integrante del progetto e del percorso espositivo due evidenze storico-artistiche della città di Fabriano che conservano le opere del Gentileschi: la Cattedrale di San Venanzio e la Chiesa di San Benedetto, contesti ricchissimi che riflettono, a gradazioni diverse, la conversione caravaggesca dell’artista, tema che apre, per la prima volta, anche agli altri artisti fulminati dal raggio di Caravaggio e che operano per le Marche, terra dove Caravaggio è grande assente, ma molto presente nel lascito di Gentileschi e compagni.

L’esposizione fa parte del progetto Mostrare le Marche, nato dal protocollo d’intesa fra la Regione, il Mibac, l’Anci Marche, la Conferenza Episcopale e i Comuni di Macerata, Ascoli Piceno, Fermo, Loreto, Matelica e Fabriano per promuovere la conoscenza e lo sviluppo dei territori colpiti dal sisma del 2016. La mostra è l’ultima di un ciclo di 5 grandi mostre che hanno già interessato le città di Loreto, Macerata, Ascoli Piceno, Fermo, Matelica. Ora è Fabriano e il suo territorio a raccontare un altro grande artista – Orazio Gentileschi – che lavorò e soggiornò nelle Marche nel secondo decennio del Seicento, puntando i riflettori sulla sua attività marchigiana con importanti scoperte, confronti, anche inediti, e un ulteriore approfondimento del rapporto di Gentileschi con Caravaggio e l’influenza che questo suo caravaggismo ebbe sulla regione e sugli artisti che vi operarono in quel periodo.

TEFAF NEW YORK 2019

TEFAF announces the 2019 exhibitor line-up for TEFAF New York Fall which returns to the historic Park Avenue Armory, November 1-5, 2019, honoring art from antiquity to the early 20th century. 90 exhibitors— including 16 participants new to TEFAF New York, will take part in the fourth iteration of the Fair, which launched in October 2016 to wide acclaim.

This year’s Fair will introduce a series of curated booth collaborations — each presenting a dynamic mix of exhibitors, specializing in historic and contemporary works, together in the same space. These collaborative presentations, set in select historic rooms of the Park Avenue Armory, will showcase the influence various eras have on each other throughout the art historical canon. Some of the world’s top contemporary and modern art specialists have joined TEFAF New York Fall especially to partner in these unique collaborative presentations, challenging themselves to present their material in a way that captures the aesthetic interplay and dialogue between their works.

Bringing together a global community of collectors, interior designers, museum curators and connoisseurs, TEFAF New York is recognized for going beyond the boundaries of a traditional art fair at the Park Avenue Armory.

Il Verbo si fece carne e venne ad abitare in mezzo a noi

A Tagliacozzo (Aq) presso la Sala Tommaso da Celano del Chiostro di San Francesco la mostra di icone sacre di  p. Tommaso Guadagno S.J. 

L’esposizione di icone sacre Il Verbo si fece Carne e venne ad abitare In mezzo a noi racconta, mediante un percorso visivo, l’Incarnazione del Dio fattosi uomo per amore degli uomini, fin dal momento in cui non era ancora visibile ma già presente nella S.S. Trinità (Gen 18, 1-15), per poi farsi carne viva nel Figlio, concepito mediante l’Annunciazione dell’Arcangelo Gabriele a Maria (Lc, 1, 26-38). 

L’iconografo “scrive” l’icona, come la stessa etimologia della parola Iconografo s.m. ( f.-a) [ tratto da iconografia; cfr gr. εἰκονογράϕος [...] <<pittore, ritrattista>>] ci suggerisce, mentre icona significa immagine, dipinto, somiglianza. Essa nella tradizione Cristiana Ortodossa è un oggetto liturgico, quindi atto a far scaturire la preghiera dalla sua contemplazione, per questo colui che scrive l’icona deve farlo in preghiera.
